It all started with our sister company American Made Bags, where we have been manufacturing USA-Made totes, backpacks and other custom designed bags for over 30 years now. Embellishing our own products for distributors was a natural outgrowth of our original business. Over the years, our manual screen printing presses and heat transfers have given way to automated screen presses, state-of-the-art embroidery machines and today’s direct-to-garment and dye-sublimation printing technology.
Today, American Printing and Embroidery operates as a stand-alone, full-service Union shop for distributors looking to embellish apparel, caps, promotional items and of course, our Union-Made in the USA bags. Between the two companies, our present Akron, Ohio shop/factory encompasses over 20,000 sq. ft of workspace and offices, plus 5,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space just to handle all the inventory coming in and out these days.
While growth and expansion has required us to relocate 3 times over the last 30 years, people and relationships have been the bedrock of our business. We are a family owned and run business, with three generations of the Armour family involved with the business and over half of our nearly 100 employees having been with the business for 15+ years - with some second-generation just now beginning to learn the trade.
So when you cotact us, whether its Misty running the office, Lang overseeing the art dept., or Clint or Marco supervising production, we want you to know we are in the business of solutions - and all solutions are people.
